
In 2024, several veteran-owned small businesses in Jefferson County experienced a considerable growth in their staff. A new list ranking Jeffco veteran-owned small businesses by their current number of employees revealed this significant growth when compared to previous years.
Software and technology firm Sherpa 6 Inc. claimed the top spot on the list with 155 employees, marking a sizable 33.6% increase from 116 employees in the previous year. Situated closely at second is Littleton’s Lifehealth LLC, extending its team from 74 to 98 employees, signifying a 32.4% growth. HukariAscendent Inc., a Wheat Ridge company specializing in engineering services, found itself at third place with a workforce of 89 people.
However, the growth was not limited to the top three companies. Out of the 52 businesses listed, several showed an increase in workforce numbers. For instance, ConexSmart LLC expanded its employee count by 28.3% from 46 to 59, securing the fifth position on the list.
The list also shed light on the industry breakdown among the top 25 firms. Sectors with the most representation included construction, engineering and architecture, followed by manufacturing and professional services, each possessing five companies. Software & technology had four companies within the top 25, while education, trade, healthcare, and financial services made up the remainder.
This consistent growth among veteran-owned businesses in Jefferson County attests to their resilience and ability to adapt, promising an optimistic future for these firms within their respective industries.
