Alliant Strategic Development has contracted Arvada-based construction firm Milender White (MW) for its largest project to date in the San Fernando Valley of California. Named Ardent on Van Nuys, the mixed-use apartment building construction is set to start this month. The project will be architected by AC Martin.
The project is a 332-unit apartment community, which includes 37 affordable units. Ardent on Van Nuys will span six stories comprising a concrete podium housing a street-level garage and five levels of wood-frame construction above it. The enclosed garage will accommodate 180 parking spaces.
The apartment complex will sit on a 377,606-square-foot L-shaped lot and also includes 4,105 square feet of retail space.
Ardent on Van Nuys signifies a thriving “new urban” community in the heart of the Valley where housing construction is progressively increasing to match the growing need for workforce and affordable housing. This project ranks as MW’s third-largest venture in Southern California, following the 472-unit Aliso in downtown Los Angeles and the 356-unit Mission Gateway in North Hills.
