Ur-Energy Reports Progress at WY Mine, Adjusts Production Forecast

Ur-Energy Inc. (NYSE American: URG) has provided updates on its Lost Creek Mine uranium operations and Shirley Basin construction, as well as revised production guidance for 2024.

Ur-Energy operates the Lost Creek in situ recovery uranium facility located in south-central Wyoming and has produced approximately 2.7 million pounds of U3O8 from Lost Creek since operations began. The company has all major permits and authorizations to further construction at Shirley Basin, the company’s second in situ recovery uranium facility in Wyoming.

Production ramp-up continues at Lost Creek, with five header houses anticipated to come online in 2024. According to the Littleton-based company, Header House 2-10 was successfully brought online in mid-August, with HH2-11 expected to follow this month. Due to manpower issues, the company has adjusted its 2024 production guidance to between 325,000 and 475,000 pounds of U3O8 captured, expecting to fulfill contractual commitments with Lost Creek production.

At Shirley Basin, the installation of monitor wells for the first mine unit is on schedule, with all 120 planned wells successfully piloted and cased. Completion work is set to finish shortly. Three drill rigs are presently at Shirley Basin and will shift to Lost Creek upon completion. The power supply for the satellite plant construction area has been completed and is energized, while road upgrades and septic system installations are in progress. Construction at Shirley Basin is expected to be finalized in late 2025, followed by a pre-operations inspection by the State of Wyoming.
