CPI Card Group Unveils New Contactless Card Technology

CPI Card Group Inc. (Nasdaq: PMTS) is set to produce a new contactless card utilizing Infineon’s SECORA Pay Green technology. This advancement will expand card design options and aim to reduce environmental impacts.

Littleton-based CPI began manufacturing sample cards in September and currently has inventory ready for pilot projects with issuers. The newly launched All-in-One technology integrates a chip and antenna, allowing for diverse design features like card shape and eco-focused materials while eliminating the need for a separate inlay, thereby decreasing the card’s carbon footprint.

“SECORA’s Pay Green advances the way cards are built today,” said Toni Thompson, executive vice president of debit and credit solutions for CPI. “With this new All-in-One technology, we are ready to provide even more tailored solutions to meet our customers’ goals. This chip offers much more flexibility, from card design to eco-focused solutions – our team is energized by the possibilities at our fingertips.”

The All-in-One technology aligns with CPI’s commitment to lower environmental impacts and is a natural addition to its eco-focused product line, which includes Second Wave and Earthwise cards. SECORA Pay Green is also compatible with any CPI card material, enabling environmental improvements across the company’s entire product portfolio.

CPI is now accepting orders for pilot programs with its partners and will showcase card samples at the Money 20/20 global fintech trade show from October 27-30 in Las Vegas.
