The U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is inviting applicants for its 2025 Executive Energy Leadership Program, known as Energy Execs. This program offers industry professionals and community leaders the chance to gain exclusive insights into NREL’s research and initiatives focused on renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.
Eligible participants include leaders from the private sector, communities, nonprofits and government. The program consists of four multiday sessions scheduled from June through September 2025, requiring travel to the NREL campus in Golden. The session dates are June 11–13, July 16–18, Aug. 20–22, and Sept. 24–26.
Program components include briefings by world-renowned researchers and engineers, tours of advanced research laboratories, visits to renewable energy installations, and a project due at the end of the program to demonstrate the application of learned concepts.
Since its launch in 2007, the Energy Execs program has included nearly 400 participants. Each year, 20 participants are selected from a competitive pool of over 100 candidates. The application deadline is Jan. 10, 2025, at 5 p.m. MST, with selected applicants notified in mid-March.
NREL is the U.S. Department of Energy’s primary national laboratory for renewable energy and energy efficiency research and development, operated for DOE by the Alliance for Sustainable Energy LLC.
