Ward Road Pharmacy Acquired by MGA Homecare

MGA Homecare (“MGA”), an Arizona-based provider of home and community-based physical and behavioral health services, has acquired Ward Road Pharmacy (“WRP”), a long term care pharmacy and home medical supply company based in Arvada. The partnership aims to enhance services for medically complex patients by providing improved pharmacy services, medical supplies and coordinated care solutions.

WRP offers services including long term pharmacy at home for individuals with developmental disabilities, home medical supplies such as enteral formula and pumps, tracheostomy supplies, incontinence products and wound care supplies, as well as Compounding Pharmacy Services for customized medication needs and child health nutrition options.

The acquisition responds to the increasing demand from MGA’s patient base of 3,300 individuals in Colorado and over 5,500 patients served daily across six states. “This partnership was born by listening to our patients and families, who voiced frustration about inconsistent access to medications and supplies. MGA and WRP are proud to answer that call, bringing healthcare home and improving the quality of life for those we serve,” said Brad Bennett, CEO of MGA.

The integration of WRP will allow MGA to reduce adverse drug interactions, improve access to care for remote and underserved populations and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Additionally, it aims to better align with payers and health plans to improve quality measures.

Lance Barnard, CEO and owner of WRP, will continue in his role while leading the national expansion of MGA’s Long-Term Care Pharmacy and Home Medical Supply division.

Edge Healthcare Partners served as the exclusive financial adviser and ArentFox Schiff served as legal adviser to MGA.
