Colorado Christian University Completes Armstrong Center

Colorado Christian University (CCU) and Saunders Construction announced the completion of the Armstrong Center, a new addition to the campus aimed at enhancing academic excellence and community engagement. Named after former President Bill Armstrong, the facility spans over 60,000 square feet and includes the School of Music, an expanded library, digital media studios, a 500-seat performance theater and the University’s first dedicated chapel.

This new building is the fifth project in CCU’s development plan since 2015. “The Armstrong Center is the most comprehensive and transformational building on Colorado Christian University’s redeveloped campus,” said Shannon L. Dreyfuss, vice president, operations and campus development. “Now the Armstrong Center serves as CCU’s iconic centerpiece.” The facility anchors the academic quad and is designed to integrate faith, learning and service.

The Armstrong Center features a steeple and cross weighing over 12,000 lbs. President Eric Hogue expressed enthusiasm about the center’s potential, stating, “This signature building reflects the high standards that define CCU — a dedication to faith, learning and community.”

Justin Cooper, president of Saunders Construction, remarked, “This building is truly the keystone to the Colorado Christian University academic campus.” He highlighted the project’s focus on quality, noting that various construction materials were used to ensure both functionality and aesthetics. The project was made possible through contributions from donors, alumni, and community partners.
