The latest rankings of the Highest-Paid Executives at Public Companies in Jefferson County have been released, highlighting top leaders based on their total compensation in fiscal year 2023. While stock options, bonuses, and other benefits often drive up total earnings, a closer look at base salaries alone offers a different view of how much local corporate executives are earning.
Among the 95 executives on the list, only 11 rely entirely on salary, with most of the top 20 executives seeing less than one-fifth of their total compensation in the form of base salary.
Leading the pack of the highest salary earners is Daniel Fisher, chairman and CEO of Ball Corp., who drew a salary of $1.25 million in 2023. Just behind him is Gavin Hattersley, CEO of Molson Coors, with a salary of $1.24 million. Rounding out the top positions are Kirsten Lynch, CEO of Vail Resorts Inc., and Robert Katz, executive chairperson and former CEO of Vail Resorts Inc., each earning $1.05 million in salary.
The median annual pay of a worker in Colorado in January was $68,800, according to payroll provider ADP. while the median salary for an executive on the list is 5 times higher —$349,029 — with 27 executives earning $500,000 or more.
