Mines Launches Education Platform for STEM Professionals

The Colorado School of Mines has introduced Mines ProEd, a professional education platform aimed at supporting STEM professionals in their careers. Mines ProEd provides a library of affordable short courses and workshops designed to help individuals bridge skill gaps and keep pace with industry trends.

Offering both on-demand and instructor-led courses, Mines ProEd is designed for mid-career workers with busy schedules. “Lifelong learning continues well beyond graduation, especially as you strive to take on new responsibilities and adjust to changing technology and practices,” said Sam Spiegel, assistant vice president for Online Education at Colorado School of Mines. “Mines ProEd offers accessible and industry-focused training for STEM professionals and their teams. Whether refining technical expertise, pivoting into a new role or preparing a team for emerging challenges, this new platform provides flexible learning that fits busy schedules.”

Mines ProEd customizes learning solutions in collaboration with companies to meet specific workforce needs. This includes training for teams on various topics such as business communications, digital transformation, machine learning and AI, ESG (environmental, social and governance), and decarbonization. Organizations can set up exclusive training programs for their employees through a dedicated portal.

“By collaborating with international partners, we ensure that professionals across sectors — from data science to engineering to energy and minerals—have access to specialized education that aligns with industry and global demands,” said John Bradford, vice president for Global Initiatives and professor of geophysics.

All courses offered by Mines ProEd are supported by the expertise of Colorado School of Mines.
