Trimble Inc. (Nasdaq: TRMB) has named SMS Equipment Inc. as the first Trimble Technology Outlet worldwide. SMS Equipment will sell Trimble grade control, site positioning systems and correction services technology directly to customers utilizing dozers, excavators, compactors and compact machines from brands including Komatsu, BOMAG and Takeuchi.
Trimble Technology Outlets represent a new part of the company’s civil construction distribution strategy. This approach aims to make it easier for users of various machine types to purchase, install and utilize Trimble technology to enhance jobsite productivity and profitability.
With over 40 locations across Canada and Alaska, SMS Equipment is one of the largest Komatsu dealers worldwide. The company emphasizes providing best-in-class technology support to its customers. “Trimble has one of the most established distribution channels in the industry, and we are excited to be expanding it further with the addition of our first Trimble Technology Outlet,” said Ron Bisio, senior vice president, field systems at Trimble. “Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for contractors using all types of equipment to leverage Trimble technology to achieve smarter operations across their digital and physical domains.”
Trimble’s grade control systems integrate sensors, software and automation features to enhance operator productivity. The technology improves accuracy and safety while reducing equipment wear-and-tear and fuel consumption.
