Trimble Introduces New API Capabilities for Estimating Application

Trimble Inc. (Nasdaq: TRMB) launched new application programming interfaces (APIs) for Trimble Accubid Anywhere, a cloud-hosted estimating software for electrical projects. These new capabilities aim to help electrical contractors collect, analyze and share data more effectively, enhancing estimating insight and collaboration throughout the construction lifecycle.

The five new Accubid Anywhere APIs are designed to support estimators in improving their estimating efforts by pulling bid data into dashboards and reports. The Project API provides a list of projects with details that can be exported to other software. The Estimate API captures all estimate information for integration into ERP systems, including a list of estimates with details and bid summaries. The Final Price API allows for comparisons of initial estimates and final prices across different projects. The Extension API enables users to send bill of materials to other software, while the Bid Breakdown API helps retrieve and analyze data points such as labor costs at a line-item level.

The automated API connectivity connects estimating to related systems such as ERP, project management and CRM, reducing the need for manual data transfer. This allows contractors to collaborate and work more efficiently across their workflows. Accubid Anywhere includes functionalities for estimating, graphical takeoff, change order management, and more, helping electrical estimators to bid accurately and quickly.

“Estimates generate a high volume of valuable data that should be analyzed and used in other workflows, but this data often gets trapped in the estimating system,” said Lawrence Smith, vice president of construction management systems at Westminster-based Trimble. “Using APIs to extract and connect data automatically to other systems means contractors don’t have to import, export or manually re-type the information. This improves efficiency and decision making on both the project and operational level.”
