IX Power Clean Water Launches Equity Crowdfunding Round

IX Power Clean Water has opened an equity crowdfunding round on the StartEngine platform, seeking to address the increasing need for effective water treatment solutions. CEO John (Grizz) Deal emphasized the vital role of water, stating, “Water is like gold and oil; it’s a sound way to secure the future.”

The Golden-based company aims to provide machines that tackle the world’s most challenging industrial wastewater. As a spin-out from the U.S. National Laboratory at Los Alamos, IX Water’s products offer treatment, reclamation, and recycling of wastewater, creating a new industrial water cycle and potentially saving billions while protecting freshwater resources.

According to United Nations researchers, humanity may face a 40% shortfall of freshwater within the next decade, leading to increased crop failures, starvation, disease and conflicts over water access. Industries, which consume trillions of gallons of freshwater annually, often discard wastewater or fail to recycle it adequately.

“One of the most important tools we have for combatting a desperate future with little water is by treating and re-using industrial wastewater,” said Deal. He noted that IX Water offers an economical solution for industries to clean wastewater for reuse, thereby conserving freshwater resources and potentially saving billions of dollars.

IX Power Clean Water’s treatment machines are tailored to individual sites, capable of removing as much as 99.8% of suspended and dissolved contaminants from industrial wastewater. The modular machines operate in real time with minimal power use, the company says, eliminating the need for chemical additives. Their media beds can be recharged on-site for extended use.

The company’s technology also reduces the need for expensive waste disposal methods, such as deep-well injections or hazardous biological decomposition ponds. With industrial wastewater generation at approximately 300 billion cubic meters annually, the demand for effective treatment solutions is growing alongside manufacturing and mining operations.

Deal stated, “With StartEngine, we’ve created a good investment that anyone can participate in and help prevent our planet’s coming water Armageddon.” He pointed out the anticipated growth of the global water treatment market, expected to reach $211.3 billion by the end of this year.
