
During the Arvada City Council meeting on April 22, the City Council for the City of Arvada announced Don Wick as their finalist for city manager. The City Council gave city staff direction to begin negotiations with Wick. At the May 6, 2025 business meeting, the Arvada City Council is expected to take action to approve the appointment of Wick.
With more than 30 years of public service experience and a deep commitment to the community he calls home, Wick currently serves as a deputy city manager for Arvada overseeing key city operations including police, public works, utilities, community development, parks, golf and hospitality and emergency management. Additionally, as a deputy city manager, Wick leads major initiatives such as Arvada’s participation in the Harvard/Bloomberg City Leadership Innovation Track where he guides the city’s project to take advantage of the investment in Quantum COmmons, and he represents Arvada in the regional transportation planning through the State of Colorado’s Mountain Rail Project. Wick also serves on the board of the Metro Water Recovery.
Prior to becoming deputy city manager, Wick held senior leadership roles with the city, including chief of police and director of public works, before advancing to deputy city manager. Holding master’s degrees in Business Administration and Public Administration, Wick brings a background that blends private-sector experience with public safety, infrastructure and civic leadership.
