Trimble Launches New Software for Construction Material Management

Trimble Inc. (Nasdaq: TRMB) has introduced Trimble Materials, a comprehensive software solution for purchasing, inventory and accounts payable. This tool is aimed at helping contractors control material costs with improved budget and inventory tracking.

Trimble Materials connects office, field, warehouse teams and suppliers through its applications, facilitating the procurement and management of construction materials. “Managing numerous material orders from various suppliers amidst volatile pricing and availability presents significant challenges in the construction sector,” said Lawrence Smith, vice president and general manager of construction management solutions at Westminster-based Trimble. “Trimble Materials offers a cohesive solution by connecting material ordering, inventory and accounting, which is especially valuable in the face of potential changes in tariff policy. This digital streamlining empowers contractors to mitigate risks, control costs and gain a competitive edge in an evolving economic landscape.”

The new software integrates with Trimble ERP solutions, including Viewpoint Spectrum and Viewpoint Vista, enabling contractors to build more efficient estimating, operations and accounting management processes. It complements Trimble’s existing construction supply chain workflows that automate the exchange of material pricing and facilitate ordering from preferred suppliers.

Field users can search for and request materials, view inventory, record received materials and communicate with office staff. Project managers and purchasing teams can control, approve and process orders more effectively, as well as generate RFQs, compare quotes and reconcile invoices, all within a centralized system for purchasing activities and expense analysis.
