Ball Corp., Açaí Motion Form Partnership

Ball Corp. has teamed up with Açaí Motion, a Brazilian natural energy drink brand, to introduce a new can certified by the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI). This collaboration aims to enhance innovation and sustainability in the beverage industry, ensuring high quality and traceability while promoting a circular economy.

The newly launched can holds the ASI certification, which confirms the use of stringent environmental, social and governance practices throughout the production chain, from mining to manufacturing. The ASI label serves as an industry benchmark for sustainable responsibility, fostering transparency and allowing consumers to make informed choices.

The aluminum cans are designed for recycling, reflecting a commitment to sustainable practices that resonate with contemporary consumer expectations. Additionally, the partnership features Westminster-based Ball’s internal coating technology, which helps maintain the beverage’s flavor, nutritional properties and shelf life. This innovation aims to provide Açaí Motion customers with a superior consumption experience in the natural energy drink market.

Açaí Motion already exports to over 60 countries and is looking to leverage Ball’s expertise to strengthen its international market presence. The natural energy drink is made from açaí and guaraná, boasting a healthy composition free of taurine and with reduced sugar. The sourcing of açaí and guaraná follows sustainable extraction practices that support local communities and protect the Amazon rainforest.

Rafael Aun Ming, founder and chairman of Açaí Motion, said, “The partnership with Ball allows us to take our product to new levels of quality and sustainability. Having our beverages packaged in ASI-certified cans is a crucial competitive advantage in the global market.”
