Action Engineering LLC has partnered with MxD to enhance data interoperability for Model-Based Manufacturing, addressing digital manufacturing challenges, particularly those faced by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). This initiative aims to streamline data standards that have complicated integration across systems, thereby reducing inefficiencies for manufacturers and their suppliers.
The collaboration will produce a Data Standards Playbook that provides guidance for integrating manufacturing data, along with a Workflow Demonstration that highlights real-world applications of these standards. Technical reports detailing current data standards, gaps and recommendations for adoption will also be developed.
“Digital interoperability isn’t just a technical issue — it’s a strategic imperative,” said Jennifer Herron, CEO of Golden-based Action Engineering. “We’re honored to lead this collaborative effort, bringing clarity and cohesion to an area where manufacturers have long struggled.”
The project also involves contributions from partners such as Rubypoint, Capvidia, Lockheed Martin and MxD, with Action Engineering leading the technical execution. The results are expected to benefit various stakeholders in the manufacturing sector, including Small and Medium Manufacturers and Original Equipment Manufacturers, by enabling smoother integration of digital engineering practices.
