Shirley Septic Pumping LLC has reported that it will become part of South Platte Services and its family of companies. Owners Doug and Nora Atkinson have owned Pine-based Shirley Septic since 2022, when they purchased it from the Shirley Family, long-term residents of the area, who continue to operate their residential trash services company, SSP Waste, and its affiliates.
South Platte Services will operate with three divisions: South Platte Waste for solid waste activities, South Platte Portables for portable restroom rentals, and South Platte Septic for septic pumping and related services. The company may retain the name Shirley Septic in some form, continuing a legacy of over 50 years of service in the area.
Doug Atkinson said, “This is not a change of ownership but rather a clarification, the reasons for which are twofold. It is to help alleviate confusion in the community between the two organizations and to provide our suite of services with a name that better reflects our growth plans within the region.” He added that they look forward to continuing their relationships with the community to provide critical infrastructure services.
The transition to the South Platte Services name and logo is expected to take four to six months, starting with South Platte Waste and South Platte Portables.
