DENVER, July 31, 2025 /CNW/ – Energy Fuels Inc. has announced the appointment of Ross R. Bhappu as President, effective August 4, 2025. Mr. Bhappu replaces Mark S. Chalmers, who will retain his positions as Chief Executive Officer and Director.
This change aligns with the company’s long-term succession plans. Chalmers expressed enthusiasm about Bhappu’s addition to the team, highlighting his extensive experience in mining and private equity, particularly during nearly 25 years with Resource Capital Funds. “We are delighted to welcome Ross to the Energy Fuels team,” Chalmers said, emphasizing Bhappu’s expertise in project evaluation and financing.
Bhappu holds a Ph.D. in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines and has a background that includes significant roles at Cyprus Minerals Company and Newmont Mining Corporation. Notably, he played a key role in the acquisition of Mountain Pass, the only rare earth mine currently operational in the U.S.
Energy Fuels is recognized for its focus on uranium production and critical minerals, actively managing several projects in the western United States. The company aims to continue its role as a leading producer of natural uranium concentrate while also exploring opportunities in rare earth elements and medical isotopes.
