Old 121 Brewhouse to Replace Closed Great Frontier

Great Frontier Brewing Company closed its doors at the end of July, marking the end of a decade in the Lakewood brewery scene. The company expressed gratitude to its customers and staff in a farewell Facebook post, stating, “It’s been an incredible ride.”

Old 121 Brewhouse has announced plans to take over the former Great Frontier location. The company, which operates a brewery near Belmar in Lakewood, stated, “We are so excited to announce: Old 121 is expanding with a new flagship location!” The new taproom will include a collaboration with The Pizza Bandit for food options. The anticipated opening is set for this fall, pending minor construction work.

Old 121 will also retain its current location on Wadsworth, which will be renamed Ye Olde 121 Public House. The transition reflects Old 121’s commitment to expanding its offerings while honoring the legacy of Great Frontier Brewing Company.

Old 121 and Great Frontier ranked #36 and #39 respectively on Jeffco BdB’s list of Breweries based in Jefferson County. Great Frontier is the second local brewery to close in July. Over Yonder Brewing Company (#21 on the Jeffco BdB list) closed on July 20.
