Mines Students Move into Expanded Village at Mines Park

Students began moving into the expanded and renovated Village at Mines Park on Aug. 1, 2025. The Colorado School of Mines has more than doubled its on-campus housing capacity for graduate and upper-division undergraduate students with the opening of this $151 million project, which increases the bed count from 495 to 1,058.

Located off 19th Street on the west side of U.S. 6, the redevelopment features five new apartment buildings offering studio, 2-bedroom and 4-bedroom units, as well as 19 renovated smaller apartment buildings. Amenities include a cafe, fitness center, indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, walking paths, a playground, and a shuttle service to the main campus.

“We are thrilled to welcome student residents to the Village at Mines Park. Residents will enjoy the independence of apartment living while also benefiting from the amenities and supports that the university designed specifically to meet Mines students’ needs,” said Braelin Pantel, vice president of student life.

A new cafe, Scully’s Coffee, will also open at the Village at Mines Park inside the Quarry Lounge, serving both the university community and the public. Details on operating hours and menu offerings will be announced soon.

This development is part of a larger plan, with another 800-bed apartment-style building set to open in Fall 2026, allowing the university to accommodate its sophomore class on campus.
