Trimble Expands Logistics Reach as Freight Marketplace Debuts in North America

Trimble Inc. has launched its Freight Marketplace in North America, with Procter & Gamble (P&G) as the first shipper on the platform. The Freight Marketplace connects shippers, carriers and brokers to automate the bidding process, enhancing supply chain efficiencies.

This digital platform integrates procurement capabilities with marketplace features, allowing real-time capacity sourcing and collaboration. P&G joins a growing network of over 400 carriers, expanding its transportation options through efficient discovery of reliable partners and competitive rates.

By automating the bidding process, the Freight Marketplace aims to streamline operations, offering a transparent experience that includes tailored bidding options for specific contractual needs. AI-powered verification also enhances security by automating checks on carrier identities and insurance details.

Emily Conner, senior director of transportation purchases, North America Market Operations at Procter & Gamble, highlighted the platform’s benefit in simplifying their complex bidding processes and improving relationships with carriers. “For a company of our scale, managing numerous mini bids is a complex and time-consuming endeavor. Freight Marketplace helps to simplify and support our bidding processes,” Conner said. “The platform saves us time while enabling us to discover new, reliable carrier partners and strengthen our relationships with existing partners.”

Freight Marketplace was originally launched in Europe in 2023 by Transporeon, which was acquired by Trimble that same year. Since its debut, the platform has attracted more than 7,000 carriers, shippers, and brokers across the region.
