Gogo Inc.’s Plane Simple Ka-band tail mount antenna system has received certification for Dassault Falcon 7X and 8X aircraft from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This certification marks an advancement in in-flight connectivity for these aircraft models.
The certification process was done in collaboration with Dassault Falcon Jet in France and has already seen installation on a privately owned Falcon 7X. The new system enhances existing connectivity options on these aircraft and provides operators access to global connectivity via the Viasat next-generation Ka-band GX network.
This upgrade allows multiple passengers to use various devices for activities such as video streaming and conferencing simultaneously, ensuring reliable connectivity during flights. Michael Skou Christensen, chief commercial officer of Gogo, noted that the aircraft is known for advanced technology, which supports long-range global operations. He emphasized that the new system provides high-speed connectivity for passengers on international routes.
The Plane Simple Ka-band terminal can now be installed through Dassault Falcon Jet and its Authorized Service Center network, with certifications from additional aviation authorities expected soon. Gogo has indicated a strong interest from operators looking to enhance their aircraft’s connectivity capabilities with this new system.
