
Willis Wiedel, CEO and co-founder of Lakewood-based Encore Electric Inc., retired on Oct. 1, 2025, marking the end of a 48-year career in the electrical industry. Wiedel has been a prominent leader for more than three decades, having held various roles in other companies before co-founding Encore Electric in 2003.
Under his guidance, Encore Electric developed a strong company culture focused on values such as honesty, integrity and ethical behavior. “Willis Wiedel built more than a company — he built a culture of trust, integrity and heart,” said Encore Electric President Andy Gordon. “His quiet wisdom shaped leaders, his values shaped Encore, and his legacy will shape its future.”
Wiedel was known for his commitment to fostering talent within the organization, personally mentoring many current leaders. Executive Vice President Marlin Linder remarked, “Willis is an incredible visionary, always looking forward at the bigger picture of the company. This allowed other senior leaders to work on the day-to-day business, knowing that his insight and thoughtfulness was building the road map to where we were going in the future.”
Founded in 2003, Encore Electric serves clients in the Rocky Mountain West by delivering electrical construction solutions and maintenance services for complex projects.
