Jeffco Parks Director Retires After 15 Years

Tom Hoby, Jefferson County’s Director of Parks and Open Space, will retire at the end of this year after more than 15 years in the role. Hoby has dedicated over 40 years to public and nonprofit parks, recreation, and open space positions.

During his career, Hoby significantly contributed to the preservation of nearly 10,000 acres of open space and parkland, the development of major trails, and the implementation of multiple strategic plans and community partnership programs.

His leadership and passion have notably influenced the community, and there is a call to celebrate his contributions and wish him well in his retirement.

The position of Director of Parks and Jeffco Open Space has been posted, and applications are being accepted through October 14, 2025.
