Gogo has secured a five-year federal contract through its division, SD Government, for providing airborne satellite communications to a U.S. government agency. Valued at $3 million, this contract follows earlier research initiatives by SDG prior to its merger with Gogo.
This sole-source agreement will streamline the agency’s aerial communications by consolidating multiple contracts into a single procurement process, thereby reducing complexity and improving resource allocation. The contract is designed to ensure critical mission connectivity with advanced satellite services and support.
As part of this agreement, the agency will have the ability to integrate new technology and services throughout the contract’s duration. SDG will utilize its extensive satellite networks, which operate in various orbits and frequency bands, to deliver reliable and secure communications worldwide.
“We are proud that the US government has chosen SDG to deliver this mission-critical connectivity,” said Hayden Olson, Head of SDG. He noted that the agency will benefit from their experience and capabilities in providing high-quality support and secure communications across its fleet of aircraft.
This contract represents a significant advancement for Gogo, marking its first major government contract that leverages the company’s multi-orbit and multi-band technology for optimized communications.
