The Colorado Economic Development Commission has approved new boundaries for the Jefferson County Enterprise Zone Program, which provides tax credits for businesses within designated areas based on activities like job creation and training. These revisions, which occur every ten years, will take effect on January 1, 2026.
Key tax credits available include a 3% investment tax credit, a $1,100 credit for each net new employee hired, and a 12% job training credit, among others.
The updated boundaries can be viewed on the interactive website of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. Businesses that previously qualified for the tax credit but fall outside the new boundaries may have the option to apply for a grandfathering status. To do so, affected businesses must fill out Form DR 0078 and submit it via email.
For additional information, businesses can contact the Jefferson County Enterprise Zone Administrator at EZ@jeffcoedc.org.
