Ur-Energy Announces Leadership Transition

Ur-Energy today announced that Penne Goplerud will retire as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary on January 6, 2026, after serving in the role since 2011. Goplerud joined Ur-Energy as Associate General Counsel in 2007 and had been providing outside counsel since 2005.

Ur-Energy Chairman and CEO John Cash commended Goplerud for her commitment over the past 20 years, stating, “Penne was instrumental in the success of the Company since its earliest days and played an integral leadership role in virtually every corporate milestone.” Goplerud will assist in the transition to her successor, Alex Ritchie.

Ritchie, who brings over 25 years of experience in natural resources law, will take over the role on January 6, 2026. He has held various positions in both private practice and corporate law, including serving as senior corporate counsel for an international oil and gas company and as Executive Director of The Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law.

This leadership change marks a significant moment in Ur-Energy’s continued growth as it prepares for future opportunities in the uranium mining sector.
