The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) has appointed Dr. Brady Beale as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2026. Dr. Beale succeeds Dr. Guylaine Charette, who has served as interim CEO.
Dr. Charette remarked, “During my time at AAHA, I’ve been continually inspired by our dedicated team and passionate members. Dr. Beale is joining us at a pivotal moment, and her unique blend of clinical expertise and operational leadership is exactly what AAHA needs to build on our momentum. I’m confident she will bring fresh perspectives that will benefit our entire community.”
Dr. Beale has significant leadership experience in veterinary medicine and hospital management. She currently serves as Associate Dean of Clinical Enterprise at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, where she is also the Hospital Director and Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Parva Bezrutczyk, President of AAHA’s Board of Directors, stated, “This is an exciting and celebratory moment for AAHA and the veterinary community. Dr. Beale brings an extraordinary depth of experience, visionary leadership, and a genuine passion for supporting veterinary professionals and advancing animal health.”
Dr. Beale graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery and a residency in comparative ophthalmology. After a period in private practice, she returned to Penn Vet in 2015, ultimately taking on her current leadership roles in 2021. Her initiatives have focused on operational optimization and team culture.
Dr. Beale expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I am honored to lead AAHA into its next chapter. AAHA’s mission resonates deeply with me, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join the team who are dedicated to supporting veterinary professionals today.”
This leadership change is significant for AAHA as it aims to enhance veterinary practices and expand its support for its members in the evolving landscape of animal health care.
