Intermountain Health to Adopt AI-Assisted Imaging Tech

Artificial Intelligence-assisted imaging will soon be coming to Jefferson County medical offices.

Perimeter Medical Imaging AI, Inc. has entered a systemwide agreement with Intermountain Health, the largest nonprofit healthcare provider in the Intermountain West, to deploy its advanced imaging technology in operating rooms at select hospitals in Utah. This agreement will allow hospitals within the Intermountain Health network, including the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City and the American Fork Hospital, to utilize Perimeter’s imaging systems for better tissue visualization during surgeries.

“Perimeter’s OCT technology is a valuable tool in my practice because it helps me visualize margins in real-time. This supports more informed surgical decisions,” said Dr. Jennifer Tittensor, a breast surgeon at American Fork Hospital. The partnership builds on a previously established Development Support Agreement meant to evaluate the effectiveness of Perimeter’s technologies and collect data to enhance its artificial intelligence algorithms.

Intermountain Health operates 34 hospitals and around 400 clinics across several western states, and this collaboration aims to extend Perimeter’s technology into regions where it hasn’t yet been deployed. “Intermountain Health has a long track record of delivering high-quality care throughout the Intermountain West,” said Perimeter CEO Adrian Mendes. “This collaboration opens the door for Perimeter to extend our technology while supporting surgeons with advanced imaging tools.”
