The Socially Responsible Agriculture Project (SRAP) has been awarded an $18,000 grant from Farm Aid to support its initiatives with rural residents, independent farmers, ranchers, and community groups in the U.S. The funding will aid SRAP’s efforts in education, issue advocacy, and community organizing to safeguard the rights of residents to clean water, air, soil, and a healthy food future.
In 2025, Farm Aid distributed over $1.3 million in grant funding, focusing on organizations that address racial equity, climate change solutions led by farmers, opposition to industrial agriculture, and support for farmers in crisis. Farm Aid President Willie Nelson emphasized the importance of these organizations in bolstering the farm movement since the 1980s.
Farm Aid’s grantmaking is part of its broader mission to maintain family farms and ensure they continue producing food for American communities. SRAP has been advocating for a just and resilient food system for more than 20 years.
