Lakewood-based Catamount Constructors Inc., a 100% employee-owned contractor, announced its acquisition of Freese Johnson, a general contractor based in Atlanta, Georgia. This move strengthens Catamount’s national position and expands its reach in the Southeast, enhancing its capabilities in healthcare, commercial, senior living, and student housing markets.
Henry Johnson will join Catamount as Vice President of National Client Development. Bringing nearly 29 years of construction experience, Johnson previously served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Freese Johnson, focusing on client growth in various sectors. He will operate out of Catamount’s Denver office and will be responsible for enhancing client engagement and business development across the company.
The merger is underpinned by a strong prior relationship, with teams from both companies having already collaborated on multiple healthcare and student housing projects. “Henry is a highly respected leader whose experience and client-first mindset fit well with Catamount’s values,” said James Benning, CEO of Catamount Constructors.
Johnson commented, “This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for both companies. Joining Catamount allows us to serve clients with greater resources, broader expertise, and a shared focus on delivering outstanding results.”
The acquisition reflects Catamount’s commitment to long-term growth and its focus on safety, quality, and service excellence.
