Released: BdB’s List of Women-Owned Businesses

Jeffco BdB has unveiled its updated ranking of women-owned small businesses in Jefferson County for 2026. The list highlights the expanding role of female entrepreneurs in various industries. The list, which features 176 companies, is organized by the number of current employees, showcasing significant contributions to the local economy.

Leading the list is Real Estate Personnel, which employs 151 people. Following closely is Hukariascendent, with 119 employees, and Lifehealth at 119 as well. The healthcare sector, engineering, and staffing industries are notably represented in this ranking.

The list reveals an interesting distribution of companies among different industries within the top 85 entries. The industry breakdown includes five construction, engineering, and architecture firms, five in healthcare, and five in administrative and general management consulting services. Environmental and staffing businesses each contribute three companies, while outpatient mental health and substance abuse centers also feature three firms.

Other notable sectors include research and development in the social sciences and humanities, with two companies represented, as well as software and technology sectors, which also have a presence with two firms listed. A diversity of industries is apparent, stretching from traditional fields like manufacturing and construction to technology and environmental services.

For example, Lifelong, based in Lakewood, saw a growth of 35.29% in staff, rising from 17 to 23 employees over the past year. Similarly, Birck Engineering, also based in Littleton, increased its workforce significantly by 62.5%, highlighting the growth potential for women-owned firms.

The significant revenue increase for Holappa General Contractors, which grew from $800,000 to $1,000,000 in 2025, further illustrates the expanding impact of women-owned businesses in the region. With consistent support and recognition, these companies are poised to continue their growth trajectory, contributing to the local workforce in meaningful ways.
