Jeffco Colleges’ Enrollment Rebounds Post Pandemic

A new list of Colleges and Universities based in Jefferson County for the year 2023 has been released by Business Legends. The list features the top institutions in the county ranked by the number of students enrolled in the year 2021.

The Colorado School of Mines, a public research university in Golden, takes the lead with 7,187 students enrolled in 2021, making it the biggest school in Jefferson County. Red Rocks Community College closely follows with 6,035 students, while Colorado Christian University secures the third spot with 8,472 students.

Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design, a for-profit art and design college in Lakewood, has 1,849 students enrolled in 2021, making it one of the smaller institutions on the list. However, the list also includes some notable increases in student enrollment in the past year.

Paul Mitchell The School-Denver, a hair and cosmetology school in Lakewood, experienced a significant increase in enrollment, rising 29.5% from 200 to 259 students in 2021. Similarly, Colorado School of Trades, a private trade school in Lakewood, recorded a 55.21% increase in enrollment from 96 to 149 students in 2021.

Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology has only 316 students in 2021, making it one of the smallest institutions on the list. Meanwhile, the Empire Beauty School-Littleton, also a hair and cosmetology school, saw a 21.74% increase in enrollment from 46 to 56 students in 2021.
