Quarterly Foreclosure Data: Jeffco vs Arapahoe

Jefferson and Arapahoe counties reported similar trends in foreclosure data over the past two years, based on data reported by the counties’ public trustees.

In Jefferson County, the first quarter of 2022 saw 83 foreclosures, which rose to 118 in the second quarter, reduced to 77 in the third quarter, and went back up marginally to 86 by the fourth quarter. The trend continued into 2023, with 108 foreclosures in the first quarter, an increase to 112 in the second quarter, a decrease to 82 in the third quarter, finally ending the year with 83 in the fourth quarter.

Turning to Arapahoe County, there were 130 foreclosures in the first quarter of 2022, that sharply increased to 211 in the second quarter. However, the third and fourth quarters each observed a steady number of 110 foreclosures. In 2023, the first quarter had 142 foreclosures. This increased to 161 in the second quarter, dropped to 128 in the third, and the number further reduced to 119 by the final quarter of the year.
