Golden Minerals’ CFO Retires; New CFO Named Amid Financial Woes

Golden Minerals Co. (NYSE-A: AUMN and TSX: AUMN) announced the retirement of Senior Vice President and CFO Julie Weedman, effective Aug. 15, 2024. Weedman will remain available to the company on a consulting basis after her retirement.

Weedman joined Golden Minerals in January 2022. “Julie has been a valued member of the Golden Minerals executive team for over two and a half years,” said Pablo Castanos, Golden’s president and CE. “During her time here, she has made significant contributions to the company, of which we are truly grateful. We thank her for her support and wish her all the best.”

Golden Minerals announced that Joe Dwyer, the company’s corporate controller, will serve as CFO. Dwyer has served as corporate controller since joining Golden Minerals in September 2022. He previously held positions at Kärcher North America, Westmoreland Coal Co. and Cloud Peak Energy, and has experience in corporate roles and assurance practice at Deloitte.

On Aug. 5, the company provided a corporate update stating it is evaluating asset sales and new sources of debt or equity capital amid financial uncertainty.
