Natural Grocers Partners to Promote Regenerative Organic Agriculture

Natural Grocers has announced a partnership with Rodale Institute, a nonprofit focused on regenerative organic agriculture through research and farmer education. The new initiative launches with a fundraising campaign at all 169 Natural Grocers locations in honor of Organic Month, aiming to raise $100,000 by Sept. 30, 2024.

Customers can contribute to Rodale Institute’s Farmer Training programs by donating at the register or purchasing themed reusable shopping bags, with proceeds supporting the training of the next generation of regenerative organic farmers. Natural Grocers will also feature community educational efforts and special promotions throughout September.

Lakewood-based Natural Grocers has been providing organic products since 1955 and emphasizes its commitment to organic integrity, being a Certified Organic Food Handler. Raquel Isely, vice president of marketing at Natural Grocers, said, “We are thrilled to partner with Rodale Institute. This highly esteemed organization has been putting science behind the best practices in organic agriculture for more than 75 years.”

According to Annie Brown, vice president of development at Rodale Institute, there is a pressing need for more organic farmers as “the time is now to invest in the future of organic agriculture.” The partnerships will help facilitate training for new farmers through Rodale Institute’s immersive programs.
