Kaiser Permanente and CommonSpirit Health have expanded their relationship under a new long-term agreement in Colorado. This collaboration will enhance access to Metro Denver’s leading hospitals and providers for Kaiser Permanente’s current and future members.
The arrangement includes the integration of Kaiser Permanente physicians and employees into CommonSpirit hospitals to care for Kaiser Permanente members. The partnership aims to provide greater close-to-home convenience.
Beginning in early 2025, Kaiser Permanente members will gain access to CommonSpirit hospitals for inpatient and emergency services. Notable facilities include:
- St. Anthony Hospital (Lakewood) – a Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center recognized for exceptional nursing care.
- St. Anthony North Hospital (Westminster) – home to a new 30,000-square-foot cancer center and has earned a Leapfrog “A” for patient safety.
- OrthoColorado Hospital (Lakewood) – the only orthopedic and spine specialty hospital in the Rocky Mountain Region.
- Longmont United Hospital (Longmont) – a full-service acute care hospital with a Leapfrog “A” for patient safety.
Kaiser Permanente intends to integrate specialty care physicians into St. Anthony Hospital, St. Anthony North Hospital and OrthoColorado Hospital starting in 2025. This will include various specialists, such as hospitalists and cardiologists.
“By combining our medical expertise and commitment to compassionate care, CommonSpirit Health and Kaiser Permanente are building a comprehensive, long-term relationship that will reshape how and where healing can happen,” said Andrew Gaasch, CommonSpirit’s Mountain region president.
Kaiser Permanente’s relationship with CommonSpirit Health has a history in Southern Colorado, where members have accessed hospitals in Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Cañon City for many years.
Additionally, Kaiser Permanente is investing in new medical offices in Lakewood, Parker, and Pueblo, alongside renovations of existing medical offices across the Front Range.
The agreement reinforces both organizations’ commitments to delivering health care in Colorado, where Kaiser Permanente has operated since 1969 and CommonSpirit’s Mountain Region has provided patient-centered care since 1882.
