Pinkard Construction Appoints New COO

Pinkard Construction has named Thomas Alford as its new chief operating officer. Alford joined the organization in October and is transitioning into the role as current COO, Blake Chambliss, prepares to retire in spring 2025.

With more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Alford has managed numerous large and complex projects, including those in life science, higher education, laboratory and health care, as well as high-rise office, multi-family and hospitality sectors. His past clients include corporations, nonprofits and various levels of government across the United States.

Pinkard President Tony Burke said, “We are thrilled to have Tom on board. His experience in diverse vertical markets, work acquisition and, of course, operations make him an ideal fit for Pinkard.” Alford’s appointment follows a month-long search for a replacement.

Alford expressed his enthusiasm for contributing to Pinkard’s growth. “Sure, growth in the sense of revenue is great,” said Alford, “but I am really invested in the growth of the people around me and creating opportunities for them. Pinkard’s employee-owned structure gives our people tremendous possibilities to chart their own destiny.”

Founded in 1962, Lakewood-based Pinkard Construction is celebrating 62 years of service in Colorado’s Front Range. Currently in its third generation of leadership, the firm is entirely employee-owned and specializes in affordable housing, senior living, multi-family, office, recreation and higher education projects.
