Kärcher North America has teamed up with Aramark Facilities Management for a Cultural Sponsorship Cleaning initiative at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, set to occur from March 17 to March 21.
The project is a part of Kärcher’s 90th-anniversary celebration, which includes 90 global Cultural Sponsorship Cleaning initiatives.
Red Rocks Amphitheatre, a National Historic Landmark, was named the most-attended amphitheatre in the world by Billboard in 2024, with approximately 1.6 million ticketed attendees by Oct. 1, according to Denver Arts & Venues. The venue, which has a seating capacity of over 9,000, continues to be a prominent cultural and musical destination.
Kärcher’s cleaning team will utilize specialized techniques to remove dirt and debris from the amphitheatre’s sandstone and concrete surfaces. The cleaning process will involve gentle steam cleaning methods and access to hard-to-reach areas by rappelling from the tower structures surrounding the venue.
With 45 years of experience, Kärcher has contributed to over 200 historical landmark cleaning projects around the world at no cost. Previous projects include Mount Rushmore, the Space Needle, and Christ the Redeemer. Kärcher collaborates with monument owners, conservationists, restorers and historians to ensure its eco-friendly steam cleaning process is safe for delicate surfaces.
“With nearly 2 million visitors and over 200 events a year occurring at the venue, the upkeep and preservation of Red Rocks is always top of mind,” said Tad Bowman, venue director of Red Rocks Amphitheatre. “Working with Aramark, we’re pleased to have Kärcher’s experience and expertise on hand for this spring-cleaning initiative.”
“Red Rocks Amphitheatre is more than just a venue; it’s a cultural and natural treasure,” said Elliot Younessian, CEO of Kärcher North America. “We are honored to contribute to its preservation and to support our local community through this initiative.”
According to John Deffenbaugh, president and CEO of Historic Denver, “Red Rock’s Amphitheatre and Park is one of only two National Historic Landmarks in the Denver metro area and also one of the most loved and popular performance venues in the world.” He added, “Kärcher’s advanced cleaning technology is capable of removing the dirt and grime that inevitably builds up over time in an intensely used space without damaging historic fabric; Historic Denver is excited to see this technology in action at Red Rocks.”
Kärcher North America is a provider of cleaning solutions and is headquartered in Aurora, employing more than 1,000 people across various facilities.
