Arvada Urban Renewal Authority Appoints New Executive Director

The Arvada Urban Renewal Authority (AURA) has named Carrie Briscoe as its new executive director, effective April 1. Briscoe has been with AURA since 2015 and has advanced through the organization, previously serving as deputy director.

Briscoe has played a key role in AURA’s success over the past decade, contributing to significant urban renewal projects in the area. She holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Colorado Denver, enhancing her expertise in planning and development.

“Carrie excels in partnering with our developers and finding solutions to very complicated real estate issues,” said Maureen Phair, AURA’s long-time and retiring executive director. “Her knowledge spans finance, legal, planning and real estate development, making her the perfect choice for the role. With her institutional knowledge, the transition will be seamless.”

Briscoe’s experience includes working with architects, engineers and construction companies, equipping her with a unique skill set that aligns with AURA’s goals. She expressed her enthusiasm for her new role, stating, “Arvada is more than just where I work — it’s where I’ve raised my family and where my heart is. I’m honored to serve in this new role, and I’m committed to helping Arvada thrive through continued collaboration and impactful urban renewal projects.”
