Viega North America has added globe, wafer check and butterfly valves to its MegaPress and ProPress product lines. The new valves integrate with Broomfield-based Viega’s existing press technology, which accommodates various materials and applications.
Viega’s press technology allows customers to use one tool to work with PEX in residential settings, copper and carbon steel in commercial applications, and stainless steel in industrial systems. Viega’s MegaPress, ProPress, and PureFlow systems are certified for more than 2,500 applications, addressing plumbing needs for systems four inches and under.
“With Viega, customers have an entire ecosystem designed to work together seamlessly. Viega products help streamline the installation process, boosting both speed and productivity. Pressing these valves and fittings with one tool saves valuable time and labor costs, all while ensuring that plumbing systems are secure and reliable,” said John Browning, director, product management.
The new products launched include:
- MegaPress 316 Globe Valves
- ProPress and MegaPress Butterfly Valves
- ProPress and MegaPress Wafer Check Valves
The MegaPress 316 Globe Valve is notable for being the first globe valve on the market with IPS press ends and features EPDM or FKM sealing elements. Sizes range from ½″ to 2″ and provide precise flow regulation. Model 5185.1 with EPDM sealing is NSF-61 approved for potable water systems, while model 5985.1 with FKM sealing elements enhances corrosion resistance with its 316 stainless steel construction.
The ProPress and MegaPress Butterfly Valves are available in sizes 2 ½″ to 4″ and excel in flow isolation and control. Model 2979.8ZL features a ductile iron body and epoxy coating, offering cost savings over carbon steel and higher pressure and temperature ratings than cast iron. Model 5179.8 includes a 316 stainless steel body for increased corrosion resistance, both with an EPDM seal and optimized for use with ProPress and MegaPress flange adapters.
The ProPress and MegaPress Wafer Check Valves aim to prevent reverse flow and are available in sizes 2 ½″ to 4″. They feature a dual-disk design that improves flow path and energy efficiency. Models 2974.3XL and 5174XL are NSF-61 rated for potable water installations, while model 5974XL, equipped with FKM sealing elements, caters to more demanding applications.
