Mines Ranks No. 3 in U.S. for 40-Year ROI Among Public Universities

The Colorado School of Mines ranks third nationwide among public colleges primarily awarding bachelor’s degrees for 40-year return on investment (ROI), according to the latest data from Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce.

These rankings are based on median ROI using the most current data (2021–2022) on earnings and net price across 551 public institutions.

When comparing both public and private nonprofit institutions nationwide (1,549 institutions total), Mines ranks No. 35 in the U.S. for 40-year ROI, outpacing many well-known private universities, according to the data. In Colorado, Mines holds the top spot for return on investment at the 10-, 15-, 20-, 30-, and 40-year marks — outpacing all other public and private nonprofit institutions in the state that primarily offer bachelor’s degrees.

With programs in engineering, applied sciences and technology, Mines offers one of the nation’s top return on investment engineering degrees.
