Ur-Energy Inc. has named Matthew Gili as its new president as the company works to enhance its uranium production capabilities in Wyoming. This decision is part of Ur-Energy’s succession planning and strategic growth initiatives.
The Littleton company is advancing towards full production at its Lost Creek mine and is set to begin operations at its second mine, Shirley Basin. At full capacity, Ur-Energy expects to produce up to 2.2 million pounds of uranium each year. Gili’s appointment is expected to bolster the company’s management team in achieving these production goals.
Chairman and CEO John Cash expressed confidence in Gili’s extensive experience in mining operations, citing his proven record of meeting budgetary constraints and exceeding production targets. Gili brings a wealth of experience from leading roles at major mining companies, including i-80 Gold and Barrick.
Gili stated, “I am extremely excited to join Ur-Energy and work with John and the outstanding management team. There is significant value to unlock with the advancement of Lost Creek, Shirley Basin and the company’s exploration projects.”
