Local Publisher Distills 2025 Whiskey Competition Results

The 11th Annual North American Bourbon and Whiskey Competition took place on July 12-13, 2024, with the results announced on July 29, 2025. The competition, organized by Broomfield-based publisher Wine Country Network, Inc., recognized a range of U.S. and Canadian-made whiskies.

This year, Sazerac and Uncle Nearest were awarded “Best of Show” honors, with the top three whiskies determined through a double-blind tasting process. The first place went to Mister Sam Tribute Blended Whiskey, while Sazerac 18-Year-Old Rye and Uncle Nearest Single Barrel Whiskey – Batch 3633 followed in second and third place, respectively.

Other notable winners included Thomas H. Handy Straight Rye Whiskey, which was named the “Best of Class” for rye whiskey. The competition featured a rigorous judging system, with certified spirits specialists and industry experts evaluating the entries on a 100-point scale.
