Jeffco Sheriff’s Office Upgrades Tech to Streamline Public Safety Operations

New York City-based Mark43, a public safety operations platform, is partnering with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) to improve officer efficiency and streamline report writing. This collaboration marks Mark43’s entry into Colorado.

The JCSO plans to replace its outdated legacy system with Mark43’s Records Management System, mobile application and analytics tools. Sheriff Reggie Marinelli stated, “Upgrading our current system is essential,” emphasizing the need for reliable tools to support modern public safety demands.

The JCSO, with over 800 employees and responsible for protecting a community of more than 550,000 residents, aims to improve coordination and focus on serving its community through more efficient technology. “Mark43 will help us work more efficiently, improve coordination with regional partners, and give us more time to focus on serving our community,” Marinelli added.

IT Director Ely Garza highlighted the necessity for seamless integration of systems, specifically referencing the complexities of managing the county jail. Garza noted, “We need systems that integrate seamlessly internally and with our regional partners.”

Mark43’s cloud-based platform is expected to significantly reduce report-writing time and improve compliance with reporting standards. Garza commented, “We see a real opportunity to break down barriers, reduce inefficiencies and unlock what’s truly possible for our officers.”

This partnership positions JCSO as a technology innovator in the region, aiming to enhance community safety and operational efficiency.
