NASA Awards Loft Federal Mission Support Task Order

Loft Orbital Federal LLC has received a task order from NASA as part of the agency’s Flight Opportunities program. This task order will support the integration, launch and on-orbit operations of a mission focused on a fault-tolerant flight computer project.

The task order is issued under NASA’s fourth Flight Opportunities indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, which aims to enhance the testing and development of innovative space technologies. Golden-based Loft Federal, a recipient of this five-year, up to $45 million contract, will provide comprehensive support including payload accommodation, licensing, satellite integration, launch campaign management and on-orbit operations.

The mission will test a next-generation flight computer system designed to withstand the harsh conditions of space. This technology was developed through funding from NASA and involves advanced computing capabilities that can handle and recover from operational disruptions caused by environmental factors in space.

The support from Loft Federal allows NASA researchers to concentrate on technology development, while the company manages the complexities of access to space. Loft Federal aims to assist NASA in advancing computing solutions critical for future scientific exploration.
