According to a Jefferson Board of County Commissioners statement posted on X, officials in Jefferson County were alerted on Oct. 11 to a swastika displayed on property managed by Jefferson County Open Space, which was visible from I-70. Open Space rangers and deputies from the Sheriff’s Office quickly responded to remove the symbol.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the incident. The Jefferson Board of County Commissioners condemned the display, stating, “We strongly condemn this vile, antisemitic symbol of hate.” They affirmed their commitment to standing united with the community against intolerance and emphasized that such acts do not reflect the community’s values and will not be tolerated.
