The City of Lakewood has launched its newly redesigned website at LakewoodCO.gov, offering a more secure and user-friendly online experience for residents, businesses, and visitors. The site, which serves as a primary hub for accessing city information and services, anticipates over 10 million visits each year.
The redesign aims to enhance accessibility, clarity, and trust for users seeking information about utility payments, city news, program registrations, and more. The transition to a .gov domain, reserved for verified government entities, is intended to strengthen security and help protect against online threats. “This change reflects the city’s commitment to maintaining the highest level of security for our digital services and providing resources that best serve the needs of our community,” said Lakewood’s Chief Information Officer Alina Walters.
The new website was developed using insights from a detailed analysis of user behavior, surveys, and resident feedback throughout 2025. The project prioritized search functionality and straightforward content organization to improve how visitors navigate the site. The updates focus on providing a more intuitive experience while enhancing access and transparency.
Residents are encouraged to visit the new site at LakewoodCO.gov and share any feedback as the city continues to improve its digital offerings.
