Lakewood-based Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (RMCAD) will feature editor and author Adam Moss in an upcoming event as part of its 2025/2026 Recontextualize Series. Moss will speak alongside local curator and project manager Mardee Goff on February 10 at 5:30 p.m. MT.
This event coincides with the opening reception for an exhibition inspired by Moss’s New York Times bestselling book, The Work of Art: How Something Comes from Nothing. The exhibition will showcase local artists Frankie Toan, Chelsea Kaiah, Juan Fuentes, and Catie Michel and will be displayed in RMCAD’s Philip J. Steele Gallery from February 2 to March 27, 2026.
Adam Moss, who served as editor-in-chief of New York Magazine from 2004 to 2019, led the publication to numerous accolades, including 41 National Magazine Awards and a Pulitzer Prize. His book features conversations with various accomplished artists across multiple disciplines, debating the intricacies of their creative processes. He emphasizes that “the end product is not the point,” focusing on the motivations and thoughts behind artistic creation.
Both the artist talk and the exhibition reception are free and open to the public.
About RMCAD: Founded in 1963, RMCAD offers art and design BFA degree programs and is recognized for its leadership in online education.
