Beaver Ranch Park upgrades begin in May

Construction upgrades at Beaver Ranch Park in Conifer are scheduled to begin in May 2026 as the park builds on a 2017 master plan and extensive community engagement. The project is expected to run through fall 2027 and follows a $9 million investment aimed at improving accessibility, safety, and the overall visitor experience.

Visitors should expect varying levels of closures during construction. Park officials said the improvements are intended to enhance visitor experience while supporting recreation, stewardship, and community connection. Efforts will be made to keep access to portions of the park when safely possible.

Planned changes include a realigned main entrance that connects to Foxton Road, improvements to the park entrance road, and expanded parking with more than 100 upgraded spaces across two lots. Within the park, the project includes a universal-access playground designed to offer inclusive play for children of all abilities, a new dog park with more than an acre of space, and improved trail connectivity.

Other site work includes realigning the Casto Creek Trail to improve safety, and adding two new vault restrooms near key activity areas. Beaver Ranch Park is co-managed by Jefferson County Parks & Open Space and Beaver Ranch Community, Inc., a nonprofit formed in 2001.

“The Beaver Ranch community has a rich history that dates back to the 1860s,” said Susan Beams, President of the BRCI Board of Directors. “These improvements represent an investment in that legacy and a commitment to creating a park that will serve and inspire our community for generations to come.”

Why it’s newsworthy: The $9 million park project will affect public access over a multi-year construction period and includes major changes to entrances, parking, playgrounds, trails, restrooms, and a new dog park—updates that directly impact how residents and visitors use the park.
